It was a very exciting evening when I was invited to talk to the Retford Civic Society at their general meeting
There was a great turn out and lots of enthusiastic lively members for the discussion.
Their passion for conserving the historic buildings in and around the Retford area was evident in the conversations that I had with a number of members before and during the break. I am always more than happy to give my time and advice to give talks to member groups to help them to preserve these heritage buildings, because once they are gone we can never get them back.
After a brief introduction into our background and our conservation philosophy, we moved on to talk about our projects in the Retford area. We spoke about some of the challenges of working with existing buildings and how we overcame some of the difficulties and we discussed how sometimes a brief may change as a design develops.
