All Saints’ Church, Coddington, is a Grade II* listed church in the Southwell and Nottingham Diocese.
Our first appointment was to undertake a Quinquennial Inspection, which highlighted that the roof coverings were in very poor condition and with some minor investigation works it was clear that the mortar bed to the tiles was failing.
Carl assisted the DCC with a grant application, which was successfully granted. The repair works included the re-covering and repair of the Nave, Chancel, South Aisle and Porch roofs together with stone repairs and the rebuilding of the stone chimney.
To minimise the impact of the changes, new tiles were used on the inner roofs, with salvaged and new tiles intermixed with original for the outer roofs. Following lead theft, the North Aisle roof was replaced with stainless steel.
