We are thrilled that both Keppel’s Column and the Chapel at Everingham Hall have both been shortlisted for the distinguished Georgian Group’s Architectural Awards in 2023.
This is great news for both buildings as they would both make very deserving winners. The annual awards ‘celebrate exemplary conservation and restoration projects in the UK.’
Although both buildings required a full programme of conservation and restoration – they are complete opposites in their Georgian styles. The Chapel is a stunning and intricate example, with a refined and ornate detailing in the beautiful setting of Everingham Hall, whereas the Tuscan Column with its brick, stone and cast iron detailing, originally part of the Wentworth Woodhouse estate, is part of the industrial landscape of Rotherham.
We look forward to getting the results shortly.
