Not Forgotten…
Situated on Memorial Avenue, in front of the 1930s Central Library and Museum, this Grade II listed memorial commemorates the residents of Worksop who were killed or missing in World War I and World War II.
Following the research undertaken to inform the restoration of the War Memorial, Bassetlaw District Council discovered that 45 names were missing from the existing Grade II listed memorial.
As part of a wider regeneration scheme, we were asked to design an addition to the existing memorial to accommodate the names of the soldiers who lost their lives during WWI and WWII.
The new memorial is influenced by and adjacent the existing memorial and is constructed in Portland Stone with a Granite base. The bronze plaque is inscribed with ‘Not Forgotten’ alongside the additional names.
